My final project was designed based on Pokemon. The main components that referenced it was turn-based combat with and item usage. The menu options and UI is roughly similar as well but not exactly a replica. I'd say overall I captured the idea but not the depth. I put more emphasis on text intending for it to be closer to a experience through text but the turn count was simply too low for it to be engaging. I wish I had more time to expand on it but the pathing was getting too complex due to the turn-based nature of design. Unless I force paths aggressively, I would need to account for every single possible turn and permutation. Simply having 2 options results in a minimum of 8 pages. With 3 options, the simplest path permutation results in 81 pages. To be honest, I think I was overly ambitious and didn't think out the steps properly. Wix had a bunch of issues that didn't help either like layering of items and resolution scaling. I spent too much time trying to figure out how to keep pages consistent for my project that it didn't work out. I also designed changes too close to the original which took away from engagement since we ended up skipping over most of the text. Either way, most of what I did was successful but not sufficient for me. This is perhaps one of my most disappointing results. I think a simple story would have been much better and easier to manage.
